A leading global alternative investment manager is seeking an experienced systematic trader to join a small, dynamic team in Asia. The firm runs quantitative, systematic and fundamental strategies, with a predominant specialism in long/short equity, implemented globally on proprietary systems. Technology and data have been core to the business for more than two decades.

About the Role

You will work as part of a global team responsible for the management and enhancement of the firm's automated execution trading process, which covers equities, futures, options, FX, commodities, interest rates, bonds and other securities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently manage substantial order flow across asset classes and geographies, with a constant focus on maximising execution quality and aggressively sourcing external liquidity through the firm's proprietary execution strategies and algorithms
  • Think analytically, identify opportunities for improvement and propose innovative solutions that contribute to ongoing enhancements of trading desk operations
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of evolving market microstructure with a deep understanding of execution costs, and interface with research and development teams on the application of that knowledge, the development of liquidity interactions and the continuous improvement of advanced trading systems
  • Deliver high service levels to fundamental and quantitative investment management teams and to global trading colleagues, providing timely intelligence, analysis and perspective

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of trading experience within a statistical arbitrage, high frequency or algorithmic trading group
  • Equities experience highly preferred
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical and financial analysis skills, with a genuine passion for markets, trading and investing
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication, demonstrating precision and a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • A record of continuous improvement, a sense of urgency and a strong work ethic
  • Basic programming and scripting skills in Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a top-tier university; a quantitative degree is preferred
