Which firms do you recruit for?

Hedge funds, asset managers, private equity and venture capital firms, and quantitative and proprietary trading firms across Asia-Pacific. Our mandates are front-office: investment professionals, and the senior functional hires that sit alongside them.

Which markets do you cover?

Our focus is Asia-focused investment talent. On the client side that means funds across Asia-Pacific: Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore, where we have offices, and Greater China (Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen), Korea, Taiwan and Australia.

Our consultants work in English, Japanese and Mandarin, and mandates regularly run across more than one market.

Do you work with funds based outside Asia?

Yes, when the hire is Asia-focused. We run mandates for global funds in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, London and elsewhere whenever the seat calls for an investment professional covering Asia: a US hedge fund hiring a Japan investor to sit in New York, for example.

Most of the roles we run are based in Asia, but what defines a Voyen mandate is the coverage, not the city.

Do you handle confidential searches?

Most of our work is confidential. A mandate can run without the hiring firm being named to the market at any stage, and candidates are approached on that basis. The roles listed publicly on this site are described without naming the client for exactly this reason.

What makes your market coverage different?

We maintain our own map of investment talent across the region rather than relying on a subscription database. It tells us who sits where, who has moved, and who is genuinely approachable, which is why a shortlist arrives with a view attached rather than a list of names.

How long does a search take?

Three to six months is the typical range, from mandate to signed offer. That time is not spent waiting: it goes on mapping the market properly and working backwards with you to calibrate the brief as real candidates come into view.

Searches have closed inside a month and others have run to nine. Seniority, market, and how tightly the brief is drawn are what move the number.

What happens after we make contact?

A consultant who covers your segment responds directly. The first conversation is about the seat and what the hire has to achieve in it, not a pitch. Nothing is committed until the mandate is agreed in writing.
